Add a Location from a Listing Link

Paste a Giggster, Peerspace, or venue website link and let LocoBase pull the name, address, photos, and description into a new location

On this page

A lot of options arrive as a link. An agent sends a Giggster listing, a producer forwards a Peerspace page, a homeowner points you at their own site. Copying that into a location record by hand takes about five minutes per place, and it is the kind of work that gets skipped at 11pm.

Paste the link instead and LocoBase reads the page for you.

Where it lives

  1. Go to Locations and click Add Location.
  2. At the top of the form, click Import from URL.
  3. Paste the link and confirm when asked.
  4. Wait while the page is read and the photos are downloaded.
  5. Check what came back, fix anything that looks off, then save.

The import only appears when you are creating a location, not when editing one. If you want to refresh an existing record from a listing, import it as a new location and copy across what you need.

What it brings back

  • Name as the listing titles it, which is often a marketing name rather than the one your team will use. Rename it before saving.
  • Address when the page states one. Many listings hide the exact address until booking, so expect a neighbourhood or nothing at all.
  • Photos, downloaded into your library rather than hot-linked, so they keep working after the listing comes down.
  • Description, which usually needs trimming. Listing copy is written to sell a wedding venue, not to brief a director.

What it will not do

  • Log in for you. Anything behind a password or a booking wall returns nothing useful.
  • Invent a day rate. If the page does not state a price, the field stays empty.
  • Get past a site that blocks it. Some listing platforms refuse automated readers. You will see a clear message rather than a half-filled form, and the manual route stays open.

There is also a rate limit on how many pages you can pull in a short window. It exists to keep the feature from being used as a bulk scraper. If you hit it, wait a few minutes.

After the import

Photos come in unanalysed. Run Analyze with AI on the ones worth tagging if you want architectural style, environment, and features filled in. That spends image reads from your monthly allowance, so it is worth doing on the six photos that matter rather than all forty.

For twenty listings at once, a spreadsheet is faster. See Smart Spreadsheet Import.
